Blog Action Day no.2

What a wealth of potent ideas coming from this years Blog Action Day! The organisers ask blogs to stay on message (“Poverty”), and I won’t stray to far from it in this post, but as a participator in a big pond, it makes perfect sense for any site to include in your blog (or create one if you haven’t started), to join 10,000 blogs in adding a unique voice from your organisation or green group.

In terms of publicity, cross-promotion by participation is The key to community and traffic building through blogs. By supporting initiatives like this, the benefits make for a long list.

Back to the message…

…and Green LA Girl alerted me to Kiva – send your cash to entrepreneurs in developing countries who seek fund to develop businesses. Drive innovation and growth and reduce poverty. That’s the key message here, although Green Girl’s link to an interesting article in the New Yorker reports that entrepreneurship in developing countries does not lead to more jobs. Is the best balance to fund those projects closest to *your* values? Or is it finding those with the chance of bringing about change to wider communities? Leave your hard earned comments on this fledgling blog and I’ll be forever grateful.
